+The publication is authored first and collaborative second. Contributions should improve a specific piece of work rather than turn the repository into a general forum.

+Useful contributions include:
+
+- a primary source that materially supports or challenges a passage;
+- a technical correction with a reproducible explanation;
+- missing jurisdictional or historical context;
+- first-hand experience, with clear limits on what may be published;
+- an accessibility, rendering, or archive defect.
+
+For editorial challenges, use the challenge template when public issues are enabled. Quote the exact passage and explain the objection. Do not publish personal data, confidential documents, private correspondence, or source identities in an issue.

+For code changes, keep the site static, accessible, inspectable, and inexpensive to operate. Run `npm run validate` before opening a pull request.
+
+General ideological arguments, promotional submissions, and vendor-comparison pitches are out of scope.
