# Editorial portfolio: first 28 stories
This first archive is designed as a spectrum, not a topic dump. Trust becomes legible only when the same questions survive contact with several kinds of life: a government wallet, a lost phone, an AI delegation, a community, a reputation score, money, a high-control group, and a political theory of exit.
## Why this spectrum
The portfolio balances four lanes:
1. **Now / identity:** EUDI rollout, age assurance, linkability, Aadhaar, China's internet identity service, Estonia and Worldcoin. This gives the publication a live beat with consequences for ordinary people.
2. **Security / design:** recovery, capabilities, petnames, SSH, Signal and Certificate Transparency. These are positive or mixed mechanisms, preventing the publication from becoming a catalogue of scandals.
3. **Power / institutions:** reputation, fraud, transparency, federation and high-control groups. These stories show that trust is shaped by governance and dependence, not only cryptography.
4. **Ideas / sovereignty:** accepted vulnerability, intelligent trust, money, *The Sovereign Individual* and the network state. These pieces give the publication its deeper identity without making theory the entry price.
The nine homepage stories alternate among these lanes. Seven use sourced photography and two remain typographic. That creates visual rhythm while keeping the page recognisably one publication. The remaining nineteen live in a regular archive grid reached through one **Read more** action.
## Homepage nine
| Story | Role in the mix |
| --- | --- |
| The EU wallet arrives before its privacy does | Lead current-affairs investigation |
| Your old phone is the real identity test | Human edge case and practical security |
| Who sent this agent? | Emerging delegated-authority beat |
| Reputation should not follow you everywhere | Familiar platform problem |
| Worldcoin and the price of one human | Concrete biometric controversy |
| Small communities do not scale. They federate. | Constructive community model |
| The Sovereign Individual's favourite verb is exit | Ideological lineage and political tension |
| Trust is accepted vulnerability | Abstract reset of the core term |
| When does an age check become an identity check? | Immediate EU use case with family stakes |
## The deeper archive
The other nineteen pieces are intentionally calmer and more durable:
- **Identity systems:** selective disclosure, wallet governance, Aadhaar, China's internet number, Estonia's ROCA response, and the identity-project graveyard.
- **Working security patterns:** capabilities, petnames, trust on first use, Signal safety numbers, and Certificate Transparency.
- **Social infrastructure:** money as memory, contextual reputation, fraud versus failure, repair, high-control groups, and traceability.
- **Political architecture:** network-state recovery, federation, intelligent trust, and the danger of universal scores.
Together, the collection moves repeatedly between a person's immediate problem and the institution hidden behind it. That is the publication's intended rhythm.
## Image policy
Homepage photography comes from images explicitly marked free to use under the Unsplash License. Each photographed article stores the original image page and photographer credit in its front matter; the article layout renders that credit below the image. The archive deliberately leaves most stories typographic so stock photography does not become a substitute for editorial identity.
